Every day we get to do what we love… and that’s working with students and teachers on their piano teaching success.
We often hear teachers say that engaging and motivating students can be a real challenge, not to mention getting them to practice. The good kids are inspiring and easy to teach, but it’s all the others that can be a real struggle and, at times, soul-destroying.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone!
At one time or another, we’ve all had to deal with the frustration and uncertainty of what to do next to ignite a student’s interest. As piano teachers, our passion is to share this wonderful skill with our students.
We were in the same space before we developed our signature Whole Body Learning approach. Integrated Whole Body Learning into our Forte Music Schools around the world was a game-changer for us.
There’s a steep learning curve when we start teaching as we cobble together a teaching approach that is often made up of ‘how we were taught’ and a few ideas we’ve picked up from workshops and online seminars. Sometimes we feel like an imposter!
Once we have a couple of tricks and strategies under our wings, we develop our expertise and confidence.
We know the world is ever-evolving and what engages and motivates kids changes just as quickly. Our tried and true strategies don't seem to work like they used to. It’s overwhelming to be on the treadmill of ‘have I got a great new piece for you!’ to capture your student’s waning interest. Many of us rack our brains trying to think of how we can change it up, so our students are bounding into lessons, excited to be there.
Well, the good news is we’re here to...
- inspire you with great new tips and ideas
- get you started using Whole Body Learning in your studio and if you’re new to teaching piano you’ll be starting off on the right foot with an approach that embraces all the latest in modern piano pedagogy.
- give you the know-how and resources you need to engage and motivate a whole new generation of tech-savvy students.
- support you to stay on track when you’re not sure what to do next
